L’AquaDom à Berlin, en Allemagne, mesure 25 mètres de haut. c’est un aquarium cylinfrique en verre acrylique intégré dans l’ascenseur transparent. Il est situé à l’Hôtel Radisson Blu à Berlin-Mitte. Le complexe DomAquarée contient également un hôtel, des bureaux, un restaurant et le centre Sea Life aquarium.
L’AquaDom a été ouvert en 2004. Il a coûté environ 12,8 millions d’euros. La construction globale de l’aquarium a été conçu et construit par la Direction Concept International, Inc.. Le cylindre acrylique a été construit par la société Reynolds Polymer Technology États-Unis. Il est maintenant l’attraction principale du Centre de Vie Berlin Mer.
Le cylindre extérieur a été fabriqué sur place à partir de quatre morceaux. Le cylindre à l’intérieur de l’ascenseur a été livré en une seule pièce. L’Aquadom est le plus grand aquarium cylindrique acrylique dans le monde, avec un diamètre d’environ 11 mètres, et il est construit sur un grand fondement de 9 mètres. Rempli de 1.000.000 litres d’eau, il contient plus de 1500 poissons de 50 espèces différentes. L’alimentation des poissons et le nettoyage du réservoir de poissons est effectué quotidiennement par 3-4 plongeurs. Les poissons besoin de 8 kg de nourriture pour poissons. Incroyable !!!
